Meetings: Tuesdays at 11:45 in the Palm Valley Country Club, Club House. Also available via Zoom.

It was a somewhat chilly Saturday morning when 12 or more Rotarians gathered in Indio for “Rotarians at Work Day”. The project for the day was to mask and paint the outside of a household in need. As we gathered, we boosted our stamina with some great buns from the store.
And with a hoot ‘an holla, we were off on our duties! The green fingered ones planted a tree that replaced one her husband planted when the moved it. It had since died. Presented with the planted tree our recipient burst into tears as memories flooded into her eyes.
The rest were armed with brushes and rollers; they attacked each side of the house with equal determination. As the sun arrived to warm our hearts, the splashing of “Whipped Cream” white already livened up the day. Finished and cleared up, we wearily walked to our cars, some with more pain on their clothes than the wall.
This is the dedication and commitment of Palm Desert Rotary members to help those in need. Each year our Club donates thousands of dollars to help those less fortunate than ourselves. If we cannot donate money, we take up the challenge and donate our time.
